Old rules rule the Love Game

With the fast decline of dating apps contrasted by the rise of in-person events, social clubs or those that are single, the welcomed in-person dating app, such as Breeze (it's an app with no chat function app, whereby they directly organise the date, the location and the time with your cute crush) - well, you might begin to feel that ‘god forbid’ we are becoming more human... again.

Yet still, gone are the days (for now), that you’ll bump into your crush, yet actually directly pursue it: on an ordinary day's commute, at a bar, club, run, at the gym, concert... etc. If that has happened to you recently - man hats off to you!! Well done!! We'd love to hear your story (welcome in the comments) so we can give everyone that's single and looking, the support and encouragement they need.

For many, it feels, we have gotten all too shy, or that we wish to gamify

or control the outcome, prior to a pursuit.

I believe, due to a decade of online dating app ‘training’, This has shattered the very foundation of the traditional ‘dating/mating game’. It feels like we need to first have the endorsement of ‘like’ button, prior to taking a ‘risky’ step forward.

Or we have forgotten that the big things in life - the spice, such as a crush, an infatuation or yes Big Love - are in fact the opposite of ‘controlled and managed risk’. No AI bot will determine the chemistry you immediately feel, the alignment between you, perhaps those butterflies or the overwhelming feeling that someone has taken ‘a camping spot’ directly in your head - leaving you slightly distracted most of the time. This only happens - or should happen - when you meet in person

So on Valentine’s Day, I want to remind you that the BIG LOVE game is always worth pursuing. It might really hurt at times, there will, of course, be rejection, disappointments and heartbreaks… yet they always make for great life stories, don’t shy away from the LOVE game. It has twists and turns, up and downs, yet will remind you that you’re really here, in this moment, and very much truly alive. And it's always a risk worth taking.
